Sukarno, Ahmed
► (1901-70) Ingeniero y político nacionalista indonesio. En 1927 unió en el Partido Nacional indonesio a todas las organizaciones que pretendían la independencia de su país. Al terminar la Segunda Guerra Mundial, proclamó la independencia de Indonesia en franca rebeldía frente a los Países Bajos y, tras el acuerdo con este país (1949), fue elegido presidente de la nueva República. En 1955 organizó la conferencia de Bandung. Destituido de todos sus cargos en 1967.
